Mike’s Jalapeño Pepper Jack Burgers

When it comes to cooking around our house I would say that I’m usually head chef, except when it comes to 2 things: breakfast and grilling.  Mike is a stellar omelet/bacon/yummy breakfast maker and the grill master extraordinaire.  I’ve never once used our grill myself, that is his domain and I don’t mess with a good thing.  Steaks, burgers, shish kabobs-you name it, he grills it-and yesterday was no exception.  Mike made one of the largest, tastiest burgs I’ve ever had and I just wanted to share some of the mouth watering pics with you.  No recipe, he just throws in whatever he feels good about.  These had a little Worcestershire sauce, garlic buffalo sauce , and diced jalapeños in the mix and were stuffed with pepper jack cheese-ummm yum!!  We ate them on crunchy Kaiser rolls and I topped mine with my favorite BBQ sauce from Oklahoma Joe’s in Kansas City and it was perfection.  On the side we had some Alexia sweet potato waffle fries and pickled green beans and it was the perfect college football Saturday lunch.

Mike’s burger creation inspiration came from our friend’s dad who runs the best tailgate in the South Lot at Soldier Field. He’s been hitting home runs at every game with his burgers and other meaty creations, so I’ll leave you with a few of those from this year and years past…
